Another weak point of the E46 chassis is the front subframe. Though not quite as bad as the rear chassis/subframe or the rear shock towers, the metal of the front subframe takes the abuse of engine horsepower and engine torque through the engine mounts. The front subframe was designed with an "ear" where the engine mounts are located and over time, this becomes a weak point of the front subframe....especially for those who install solid engine and transmission mounts.
The fix is welding in the Turner Motorsport front subframe reinforcement kit. These additional steel plates get welded to the front subframe adding reinforcement/structure back to your subframe.
***Nuts & Bolts Performance highly recommends that this job is performed by a professional with very good welding skills***
